The Internet has become the modern medium for global communication and freedom of speech. Unfortunately, it is increasingly being abused by persons and groups with anti-libertarian, anti-democratic and illegal agendas.

naiin, which is the German phonetic equivalent of the word “no” and stands for “no abuse in internet", was established in August, 2000, under the auspices of the former RTL television CEO Prof. Dr. Helmut Thoma by the Internet industry together with associations, activist groups, and private individuals in order to develop and implement appropriate and, more importantly, legal measures against abuse on the Internet.

Successful work also means combining and coordinating already existing initiatives. This is because widespread involvement of the Internet community is necessary in order to strengthen democratic principles. For this reason, we urge businesses, associations, activist groups, and private persons to cooperate:
Say yes to naiin!
