Secure e-commerce

The sales channel "Internet" or one’s own online shop has recently become the second pillar for many companies: more and more consumers prefer the virtual shopping strip to real shopping centres. After all, it is also increasingly less complicated to order clothes, books or furniture over the Internet with just one click, have them delivered conveniently to your home or enter into contracts for services.

Instead of sweating in the changing room, anything that doesn’t fit you or isn’t to your liking can often be sent back again effortlessly. And payment is very simple: just enter the account or credit card information and the ordered goods are dispatched.

But dangers are lurking in e-commerce: clever data thieves target reckless users. And "black sheep" among Internet merchants are to blame for distrust: primarily those who accept orders but never deliver the paid goods – and finally can no longer be located. Much money has already flowed into the pockets of these con artists, but only very few of the fraud victims are ever compensated for the financial losses they incur, which can be immense depending on the circumstances.

Transparency, security and education

So that the "black sheep" do not cast a shadow over the entirety of online commerce, it is of great importance, in addition to raising awareness of the issues, to sustainably strengthen consumer confidence in e-commerce through security, transparency and education. It is here where naiin is developing appropriate concepts and measures and seeking to implement them globally in co-operation with online commerce. For this reason, naiin’s efforts are actively aimed at putting a stop to the scammers’ game.

The aim is to strengthen online consumer protection sustainably and, as a result, to maintain the “Internet” sales channel as a major revenue driver for the economy and for the individual companies active on the Internet.
